Why aren't my DVD+RW discs playing on my computer's DVD drive? - magnavox dvd recorders it does what it is supposed to

I use a Magnavox DVD recorder to make DVDs of the TV series too. I would be able to play them on my computer, DVD player, but I've tried Windows Media Player and DVD player in my computer database, to say that my hard drive is not in good shape. I do not understand this because the idea of a DVD + RW, which was adopted, fully compatible with every player. I have the records, but it seems my DVD burner does not allow me the opportunity to make changes compatible. Any help or ideas would be welcomed.
